CannSell Program Has New Owner
Canadian Cannabis Retailers Co. Ltd. Buys Assets from Failing Lift & Co. – LPC
Ontario’s CannSell Program has a new owner. Canadian Cannabis Retailers Co. Ltd. (CCRC) announced that it bought the program from Lift & Co., which entered bankruptcy protection in September.
“CCRC is proud to assume the ownership of CannSell,” the company stated in a press release. “The Corporation will ensure the operational stability of the program going forward.”
The press release also said the CannSell program will have a “renewed focus on customer service”.
Lift & Co. originally developed Cannsell Certification for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) in partnership with MADD Canada. The mandatory program for anyone employed in the retail cannabis industry in that province ensures frontline staff, delivery drivers, managers, and owners are well trained. It is similar to the province’s Smart Serve program for those serving alcohol in Ontario, and BC’s Selling It Right cannabis training program.
According to the CCRC press release, more than 8,000 individuals in Ontario have completed the Standard program. (Those interested in taking the CannSell Program can learn more at: learn.cannsell.ca)
