Californian US$3.5 Million Mansion’s Cannabis Open House Features Vapes and Edibles – LPC

A Los Angeles cannabis open house featured edibles, vape pens, and cannabis decor.A real estate agency in Sherman Oaks, California held what it calls the first cannabis open house. Ben Quibrera, a realtor with Rodeo Realty, listed the house for US$3.495 million in the Los Angeles neighbourhood. Rodeo Realty teamed with Society Group PR and the Mota Group to create the event.

Part of the allure of the cannabis open house was its taboo nature. But part was also with the growing luxury cannabis movement happening especially in the United States.

“So I said, let’s brand an entire house with cannabis,” said Alexander Ali, CEO of Society Group PR. “We’ll put cannabis plants in the MLS photos. We’ll have a trimming open house where brokers can get up close and personal with a cannabis plant and learn how to trim and cure it. And then we’ll throw a huge party.”

They called that party the Greenleaf Cannabis Laboratory. The 100 “guests” who attended were served cannabis-infused chocolates and gummies, vape pens, and CBD cream massages. The décor featured hemp plans and cannabis paraphernalia.

Apparently, it worked. Quibrera confirmed he received an offer the Monday after the Friday cannabis open house. “(It) is the tip of the iceberg for luxury real estate in Los Angeles.”

Ali agreed. “This isn’t bongs and tie dye,” he said. “Billions of dollars are being poured into this industry.”

Cannabis Chic a Growing Trend – LPC

Cannabis open house for luxury Los Angeles mansions would have sounded like a premise for a movie 10 years ago. (Possibly starring Seth Rogen.) However, it’s part of a larger trend emerging in the United States. You can see “cannabis chic” in Barney’s of New York Beverly Hills cannabis retail store and on the shelves of Neiman Marcus with its cannabis-based beauty products.

Canadian companies are getting in on the trend, too. Nannette de Gaspé put its cannabis-based beauty product in each “Everyone Wins” swag bag at the 2019 Oscars. Celebrities such as Martha Stewart are also getting into the act, helping Canopy Growth develop cannabis products.

Is the cannabis open house the next big thing in Los Angeles real estate? Once the novelty and taboo has worn off, the allure likely will too. However, cannabis chic in some form is likely here to stay.
