COVID Lockdowns Could Impact Ontario Cannabis Sales: OCS
Ontario Legal Cannabis Market Increased Market Share in Jeopardy – LPC

The Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) warned that the impending province-wide lockdown could impact Ontario cannabis sales.
“While there is still a great distance to travel in moving consumers from the illegal market to the new channels, we are establishing forward momentum,” Thomas Haig said. Haig, the OCS president and chief executive, added that sales are driven by a number of factors such as access, quality and price.
However, last April, many Ontario cannabis retailers saw cannabis delivery and curbside pickup as a saviour. Ultimately, the government extended Ontario pickup and delivery for that reason.
Canadian legal cannabis sales hit an all-time high in October, just as the COVID second wave was underway from much of the country. Ontario cannabis sales in particular improved thanks to the increase in Ontario cannabis retail stores.
According to the Canadian Press report published on the Global News site, the average price for a gram of legal cannabis dropped while illegal cannabis increased.
Nobody knows what exactly will happen during the Ontario COVID lockdown this time around. But as long as prices are low and curbside pick-up and delivery options are available, it’s hard to imagine the legal Ontario cannabis sales will suddenly lose ground.
