Cannabis 2021 – What’s in Store?
One CEO Predicts Quality, Specialization, and Innovation for Cannabis 2021 – LPC
Few are upset at the thought of closing out 2020. Those in the cannabis industry might be especially eager to move on. But what’s in store for cannabis 2021?
According to Ian Haase, founder and CEO of Motif Labs, quality, specialization, and innovation are at the core.
“2021 will mark an increased shift into extract-based products,” Haase wrote. Drivers include more product variety and availability, price adjustments, and increasing consumer knowledge.
It’s part of a general trend toward product specialization. “Next year will see product offerings become much more refined, targeted and varied,” he wrote. Cannabis 2021 will keep “consumers’ varied preferences in mind and (cater) more holistically to the many needs of the market.”
Haase also implied indirectly that cannabis drinks will become more popular. So will new and interesting products made from extracts. “More innovative and unique products will emerge in the new year — products like ‘exotic cannabinoids’, water-solubles, and topicals.”
Overall, Haase is optimistic about cannabis 2021 in Canada – and for good reason.
“With further improvements in logistics, increases in the number of operating retail storefronts and continued growth of licensed producers, 2021 should bring about another exciting and transformative year for Canada’s cannabis industry.”
Although predictions are difficult in volatile industries (as last year’s bull market prediction proved), there’s a lot to feel optimistic about cannabis 2021.
