There are several steps to the Health Canada Licensed Producer Approval Process:

1. Application Submission through the CTLS
2. Payment
3. Screening to ensure completeness, etc.
4. Review and Security Clearance including site evidence, criminal background checks, etc.
5. Licensing Decision

After Health Canada made changes to its approval process in May 2019, licence approvals jumped from about five per month to about 13 per month by December 2019.
