Second Cup Cannabis Store Opens in Toronto

Canadian Coffee Shop Gets New Life in Ontario – LPC

Second Cup cannabis store opened on July 10, 2020 at Avenue and Fairlawn in Toronto. The Second Cup Coffee Company is getting a second life. The first Second Cup cannabis store opened in Toronto at 1703 Avenue Rd. at Fairlawn Ave. on July 10, 2020. Branded as “Hemisphere Cannabis Co.” by parent company Aegis Brands, it will no doubt be known as a Second Cup cannabis store for the foreseeable future.

The focus of the company will be customer service and customer education, said Steven Pelton, Aegis CEO.

“We’ve created an environment that’s entirely focused on matching customers with the right product for their desired experience,” Pelton said. He added that’s “whether they’re shopping for cannabis for the first time ever, for the first time in a long time, or for the first time today.” The line is taken directly from Hemisphere’s website.

Although the first Second Cup cannabis store opened quietly, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, Pelton said.

“It’s no secret that we’ve been exploring opportunities within the cannabis space since early in 2018. We’re thrilled to finally be celebrating the launch of Hemisphere Cannabis Co. in Canada.”

Ontario finally passed 100 cannabis store licences in June after the Ontario retail cannabis market opened up earlier this year. The new Second Cup cannabis store will be one of six planned so far in Toronto and Ottawa.
